Fish Creek Provincial Park

Fish Creek is one of Calgary’s major natural destinations, with more than 80 kilometres of trails and pathways and a wide range of outdoor opportunities. Prince's Island Park

Prince’s Island Park is an urban green space along the Bow River near downtown. The City lists pathways, picnic areas, a playground, seasonal skating and a variety of event uses among the park’s features. It can be combined with a downtown sightseeing day.

Nose Hill Park

Nose Hill covers more than 11 square kilometres and has hiking trails, native grassland, wildlife and designated off-leash areas. Its elevated landscape provides a different outdoor experience from riverfront parks.

Confederation Park

Confederation Park is a large northwest Calgary park with green space and recreational facilities. It can work well for visitors who want a city-park experience away from the downtown core.

Inglewood Bird Sanctuary

The Inglewood Bird Sanctuary provides a quieter nature experience close to central Calgary. The City notes that its trails are open from sunrise to sunset, with seasonal Nature Centre hours. Bicycles and dogs are not permitted on the sanctuary site except assistance dogs.

Choose by Activity

Families may prefer parks with playgrounds and easy pathways. Active travellers may want longer routes. Visitors interested in wildlife may prefer Fish Creek or Inglewood. For skyline and city views, Nose Hill offers a different landscape.

Park Etiquette

Follow posted signs, stay on designated trails where required, keep wildlife at a safe distance, clean up after pets where pets are permitted and leave natural areas as you found them. City park rules and seasonal restrictions can change.
